Accessibility

Care should reach everyone. We work to make HIPAA LINK usable for providers and clients of all abilities.

Last updated: July 2026

Our commitment

HIPAA LINK is committed to providing a telehealth experience that is accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of ability or technology. We aim to conform with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, and accessibility is an ongoing part of how we design and build.

What we do

  • Keyboard navigation. Core flows can be operated without a mouse, with visible focus indicators.
  • Screen reader support. We use semantic HTML and ARIA labels so assistive technologies can describe the interface.
  • Color and contrast. Text and interactive elements are designed to meet AA contrast ratios, and we do not rely on color alone to convey meaning.
  • Readable text. Layouts respond to larger text sizes and zoom without loss of content.
  • Right-to-left languages. The experience supports right-to-left layouts, including Arabic.
  • Reduced motion. Non-essential animation respects the operating system reduced-motion preference.
  • Simple client flow. The client join experience is intentionally minimal, with large targets and clear, plain-language guidance.

Ongoing work

Accessibility is never finished. We continue to test with assistive technologies and refine the experience. If a feature does not yet meet our goals, we prioritize fixing it.
